Dear Chili Cooks,

It's Chili Time! The wheeling Feeling Chili Cook-off is coming up Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 and we want you to come join us. The event will be held at the Heritage Port on the Wheeling Waterfront located on Water Street between 10th and 14th Streets in Wheeling WV.

We want to emphasize that you may enter the International Chili  Society (ICS) competition and/or the Commercial Cooks competition. Commercial Cooks is the category where restaurants , banks and businesses will be competing as well as all People's Choice Chilies. Peoples Choice cooks are to prepare additional chili for public tasting and the chili must contain beans or pasta.

We also need you to comply with City regulations, which will be included in your cook's confirmation packet along with maps of the downtown area, waterfront cooking site, Cook's Party info and the parking pass.

We want to remind the Commercial Cooks that there is a five (5) gallon minimum of People's Choice chili. So that there is enough to feed the masses, we ask that you make as much as possible. We want to make this the best Chili Cook-off ever and really show Wheeling, WV what chili cooking is all about!

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AND COMMERCIAL COOKS- Restaurants and cooks who are not ICS members or do not wish to follow ICS rules are invited to enter the Commercial/Media competition. *Entrants may display logos or business information on at your booth, and broadcast/conduct giveaways while publicizing your business or organization. The required minimum is five (5) gallons of chili along with the entry fee. Please make sure as much chili as possible! Chili can be prepared off site as well as on site at the Cook-off. Cooks may prepare vegetarian chili or any variety of meat or poultry based chili for this competition. If you feel you are ready to compete at the next level, we would like to help you enter as an ICS cook-call and ask for information on the ICS competition to be sent to you.

ICS SANCTIONED COMPETITION - The winner qualifies for the ICS World Championship in Reno, Nevada, where the top prize is $25,000. You must follow ICS rules and be a current ICS member.

ICS Salsa Competition- Anything goes - prepare off site or at the Cook-off. As long as you follow health codes, then it's competition Salsa  in our minds. ICS Rules apply. Winner qualifies for the World Cook-off.

ICS Chili Verde- Chili Verde is a southwestern phenomenon that is defined as any kind of meat or combination of meats cooked with green chili peppers, various spices and ingredients with the exception of beans and pasta. ICS rules apply. Winner qualifies for World Cook-off.

TENTS, TABLES AND CHAIRS WILL BE PROVIDED BUT space is limited and registration is based on a first-come first-serve basis so return your completed form and payment today. After receiving your entry fee and form, we'll send the official cook's package and confirmation registration. we are also listed on the ICS Official Website where you can complete online registration for this event. Note that some materials are time sensitive, so make sure you complete this form and secure a place in this years Wheeling Feeling Chili Cook-off.

Exciting prizes and awards will be given for the top places in ICS Red, Green and Salsa Competitions, as well as for Commercial Cooks, Showmanship and People's Choice and Crock-pot Chili. This is your chance to win fabulous prizes, earn bragging rights over your chili, hear some great music. AND help the many charities associated with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley!

As a way of kicking things up a notch for the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, the named charity for the Cook-off, we are asking you to consider making EXTRA PEOPLE'S CHOICE or non-competition chili to give to give out to the crowd as samples. The more you can give out the more the public can donate and the more the merrier!! Please remember that the chili must follow the same Health Department regulations as competition chili.

The City of Wheeling, the WesBanco Arena, the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation and the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley appreciate the time and effort you donate towards this event, and are hoping to make the Cook-off a great one for the cooks as well as the public.
